Norman D. Morrison IV

Norman D. Morrison IV graduated from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 2000. He then completed the University of Arkansas Graduate Law Program in 2001, earning an LL.M. degree.

Mr. Morrison was admitted to the California State Bar in 2000 and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California in 2001. He is a member of the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada, the American Agricultural Law Association, the California State Bar's Litigation and Business Law Sections, and the Fresno County Bar Association.

Prior to joining Weiss, Martin, Salinas and Hearst, Mr. Morrison worked with another Fresno firm, handling high profile and complicated matters. One of these includes the defense of a client in a complex lawsuit, involving more than sixty parties, in Federal Court under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.

Mr. Morrison has represented business entities, governmental agencies, professionals, and individuals in a wide range of business, transactional and litigation matters. He has regularly represented clients before California State Courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of California. He has successfully represented clients in general tort claims, breach of contract disputes, personal injury matters, and fraud cases.

Mr. Morrison is the co-author of "Lender Beware: California's Secret and Not So Secret Statutory Agricultural Liens," an article published in January, 2011, in California Bankruptcy Journal (31 Cal Bankr. J. 1). He is also the co-author of "Agricultural Law: A Selected Bibliography," published in 2001 in the University of Arkansas Law Review (54 Ark L. Rev.317).

Mr. Morrison served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff while completing his undergraduate degree with majors in both Psychology and Criminal Justice. He served as a Volunteer Firefighter-Emergency Medical Technician for a number of years, and has been a member of the National Ski Patrol for more than twenty years, serving as a ski patroller at a nearby resort.
